Volunteer Leaders and Interns
Volunteer Leaders at Fresh Stop Markets
With only three full-time staff members and two VISTAs, New Roots is highly dependent upon volunteer leaders to achieve our mission of igniting community power for fresh food access. Please understand that almost all of our volunteer leaders are shareholders facing limited resources and either live, work, play or pray in the neighborhoods where the Markets are based. However, we are open to a limited amount of very passionate, committed and sensitive allies from outside of the community joining this movement. If you are interested in volunteering for a Fresh Stop Market, please click here to choose your home market. Then, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can get you on that list as a shareholder. Training for Fresh Stop Market leaders happens at our Fresh Stop Training Institutes (FSTIs) in the winter and spring. Click here to see where the next training is happening. If you’ve missed the FSTIs and the season has started (June), you can be trained in real time at your home market. For descriptions of the leader responsibilities, click here. For more questions on volunteering at Fresh Stop Markets call 502-509-6770, Ext. 702 or email email@example.com.
