The Gendler Grapevine Fresh Stop Market @ The J is named after Rabbi Everett Gendler, considered by many to be the father of the Jewish environmental movement, to honor his life’s work and the work of his family foundation—the Gendler Grapevine Project—in helping to fund the start up of this Market.
This is New Root’s first “East End” Market in Louisville. The Gendler Grapevine Fresh Stop Market pops up every other week on Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 PM at the Jewish Community Center (The J), in the Pavilion next to the Community Garden on the back edge of the property, next to Shalom Towers. Find the party by following the Fresh Stop Market yard signs straight to the back parking lot! To order your shares for the 2019 growing season, please call 502.509.6770 (if payment method is debit/credit or SNAP), or drop off cash to New Roots Office (1800 Portland Ave), 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Michael’s works out of the J but can be seen all around the Commonwealth leading hikes, organizing restaurant nights, in the J’s community garden, and extolling the virtues of compost.
